Milan Nestarec

NACH - 2022

Moravia, Milan's home, has the perfect conditions for making light-bodied, fun reds with good acidity. This unpretentious "rural realness" used to be the traditional style there. Obviously, the region also had to go through the craze of new oak barrels, de-acidifiers, tannins and all the other BS covering the sense of place in our wines, when the Czech Republic opened its borders after 1989. But this is a return back to the normal, juicy Moravian red, based on their signature Blaufrankisch grape. So voila Nach, named after its colour (= purple in Czech).

An elegant, light red wine that comes in a 1 litre bottle. Blackberry in the nose, lots of cassis on the palate, some hay and a slightly bitter finish. It’s mild on tannins so you can serve it chilled!
