Barolo Serralunga d'Alba - 2019

Barolo di Serralunga d'Alba is a village - by Burgundian standards - Barolo by Luigi Baudana and his only Barolo in which he blends grapes from different places, all within the community of Serralunga d'Alba. This is a majestic, rumbustious Barolo that nevertheless offers an expression of harmony and balance. Here the beastly character of Serralunga's Barolo turns down the gears, making this little beast, balanced and accessible earlier than the corresponding single-vineyard crus of the same producer. The wine is an authentic expression of the most famous sub-region of Barolo, the result of a slow traditional vinification followed by prolonged maturation in large Slavonic oak barrels.
