It all started with love… when Vagelis Chatzivaritis met his soon to be wife Olga Iakovidou in 1981. She was from Goumenissa, a small traditional town in Central Macedonia, Greece, a place with a long tradition in winemaking. Their love for winemaking led to plantings of new vineyards, and, eventually, their own winery in 2007. Their daughter, Chloe Chatzivaritis, is following on her parents’ footsteps and after studying oenology and acquiring experience in Greece, France, New Zealand, and Chile, she is now serving as the winery’s oenologist while she experiments with a wine range of her own in a more 'natural' approach.
Mus is 100% Xinomavro from the vineyard of Filiria in Goumenissa. A “Natural wine”, spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks. It matures in French barrels afterwards, without any additives except of a minor amount of sulfites. A Xinomavro with a strong personality, structure and great complexity.
