Vouvray Sec - 2021

Champalou Vouvray sec is a wonderfully poised wine, with golden delicious apple flavours, quince and flinty minerality, balanced by a crisp, linear acidity that flows through the finish.
Since starting the domain in 1983, the Champalou family have not only grown their business, but their label is one of the most highly acclaimed in the appellation. They embrace sustainable farming while also integrating the use of the lunar calendar more traditionally associated with organic viticulture.
You could cellar this wine a few years if you like - the bruised apple and honeysuckle will come to the fore and the richness will develop while the acid will fall away a little, making for greater intensity. Honestly, though, this wine is drinking so well right now that none of it will last long in our houses.
