The domaine of Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is widely regarded as one of the very best in Jura, and the Tissot family more generally is widely known in the region for its long tradition of winemaking.
Bénédicte & Stéphane converted the domaine to organics in 1999 and biodynamics shortly after, with the focus on pure expression of terroir. Made in honour of Stéphane's father Andre (dédé/DD) who started the domaine, DD is a blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Poulsard aged in 100 year old oak foudre and bottled without sulphur. Another epic from the Tissot crew. This was the wine that we discovered in Arbois that changed things for us. Knocked back with a couple of saucisson cooked on the BBQ in a French municipal campsite it was a game changer. Super light on it's feet but with intensity and unparalleled individualism. It treads the line between farmyard rustic and ballroom glamour perfectly. Equally weird and wonderful, theres nothing else on planet earth like it.
