Pinot noir from a 1.8 hectare parcel situated on the east and west slopes of a hillside composed of clay from the Lias epoch covered by limestone rubble. Whole-cluster Pinot Noir goodness bottled unfiltered and without sulfur. A serious stunner...
The domaine of Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is widely regarded as one of the very best in Jura, and the Tissot family more generally is widely known in the region for its long tradition of winemaking. Bénédicte & Stéphane converted the domaine to organics in 1999 and biodynamics shortly after, with the focus on pure expressions of terroir.
In Stéphane's words 'A wine made with love and passion produces an emotion. You can find in a wine the personality and the character of those who made it because each gesture, each operation, each decision has its importance. The "life force" is so well constructed that if we speak of natural wines, you will not find two wines that are the same anywhere in the world, as opposed to industrial wines which are all similar.' - and we couldn't agree more.
