The "garden of angels" is one of the most famous terroirs in Bergheim, with a gravelly structure that stresses the plant and leads to small acre yields of exceptionally ripe grapes. Among the famous and controversial premier crus of Marcel Deiss, since the term does not apply to Alsace, this is a shocking wine with breadth and expressiveness on the nose but also an almost "vertical" palate, which pulsates with energy and power and travels the wine giving duration in the mouth. The minerality here is reminiscent of stone and gives an extremely tasty dimension. Austere yet mature, a wine that can age for many, many years developing its shocking complexity.
