Ami’ winery was born in 2014, out of the desire to keep alive a friendship between talented winemaker Willy and the charismatic ambassador Paul. The grapes are all organic and include some, sappy old-vine Gamay (60%), spicy-fruited Pinot Noir (20%), citrusy Aligoté (10%), welcoming Chardonnay (10%). The mineral depth comes from Gamay grown on clay and granitic soils (on the slopes of Mont Brouilly in Beaujolais), as well as the other varieties which are planted on deep clay and limestone soils.
Selected by hand, the Gamay and Aligoté grapes are co-fermented in whole bunches in a large open wooden vat, while the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wines age separately for 12 months in used French oak barrels, before finally, being blended. Bushels of florals, shiro plum, pomegranate gummies, juniper, squished black cherry & leather belt section at Value Village. A juicy, fun red wine, with incredibly pleasant fruity and floral aromas. Easy to drink and light on the palate with fine tannins and balanced acidity.
