Bastardo Old Vines - 2023

€52,00

Don’t let the name fool you—Bastardo Old Vines is anything but uncouth. This rare gem from Matías Riccitelli’s Patagonia side project is made from Bastardo (also known as Trousseau), a grape with French roots and a serious flair for drama. The vines? Planted in the late '60s in the wild, windswept Río Negro region, halfway between the Andes and the Atlantic.

This is one of those wines that whispers elegance while kicking in freshness. It’s light on its feet, with juicy cherry, wild berries, floral perfume, and a zing of pepper and stony minerality. The kind of wine that surprises you with how delicate it is… then makes you reach for another glass because it’s just that irresistibly drinkable.

Riccitelli keeps it natural—hand-harvested grapes, wild yeast fermentation, and no filtering or fining. A bit of oak adds polish without dulling the sparkle. This isn’t your typical red; it’s a crisp, crunchy, cool-climate beauty with a subtle wild streak.

For lovers of Jura reds, lighter Pinots, or just cool things from unexpected places—this Bastardo is one you’ll proudly invite to dinner.

Serve with a chill. Drink with joy. Repeat.
