El Calado del Espino is Rioja Blanco with serious charm. Sourced from two old Viura parcels—one in Labastida, the other in San Vicente—this wine brings together two villages through a shared thread of chalky, limestone-rich soils.
That common ground is what gives the wine its signature style: precise, linear, and quietly powerful. There’s a lovely tension here—fresh and focused, yet smooth and seductive, with layers that unfold as you sip.
It’s also a bit of a nod to the past. The growers who planted these vineyards clearly knew what they were doing, choosing sites perfectly suited to Viura—and it shows.
